Since joining Schoultz & Partners, Mr. Vavra has been involved in a number of group mergers for corporate clients and prepared the documentation and participated in the negotiations for the phased forward acquisition of a shopping centre under development in the city of Chomutov. He has also worked on a complex site acquisition and turnkey hotel development in Budapest, Hungary for an Irish investment fund, and managed the pre-leasing of two prestigious Class A office buildings in Prague 4 and Prague 5 for major international development companies. He is currently advising a foreign property developer, new to the Czech market, and specializing in long-term brownfield development sites, dealing with related municipality and public procurement laws. His real estate practice covers conducting real estate due diligence investigations (land, buildings and leases), the preparation of due diligence reports, and providing advice focused on solutions to those issues identified during the investigation process. Mr. Vavra also prepares, negotiates, finalizes and closes real estate acquisition agreements for both share and asset deals, taking care of all ancillary documentation and arrangements, such as escrow agreements, cadastre registrations, financing bank consents and other requirements, etc. He has also assisted with several greenfield investments in the Czech Republic, covering real estate due diligence, the purchase of the sites, the preparation of construction agreements, the pre-leasing of buildings and the subsequent sale of the whole project. Mr. Vavra has been practicing law in the Czech Republic since 2005. As a koncipient for 2 years in the Prague office of a major international German law firm, he participated in several large cross-border projects, including various mergers & acquisitions for German clients. Mr. Vavra also provided ongoing and long-term commercial legal advice to large Czech companies in general corporate and labor law matters and different kinds of commercial transactions.
